SDI Full Face Mask Diver Specialty Course

with Dayo Scuba, Orlando, Florida

The SDI Full Face Mask Diver Specialty program trains certified divers the necessary procedures, knowledge and skills to safely dive with a full face mask.

Why Dive a Full Face Mask?

Instead of asking why you should dive with a full face mask (FFM), maybe you should ask yourself, “Why not?” If you’ve never used one before, you may be unaware of the features and benefits full face masks provide.

Full face masks seal the entire diver's face from the water, and contain a demand valve (mouthpiece) that provides the diver with breathing gas. They have several functions:

* The diver can see more clearly underwater

* They provides the diver's face with some protection from cold and contaminated water

* They increase breathing security

* They provide a space for equipment that enables the diver communicate with other divers and surface support teams.

Professional divers often use full face masks as they offer extra protection from the elements and/or extreme conditions (cold or polluted waters). Until recently full face masks were only available for this type of diving. However, user-friendly design, new manufacturers and affordable prices have made full face masks available for all divers, and there are a range of them on the market today.

At Dayo Scuba we now have full face masks in stock, and available for purchase and training.

Do I need to take a class to learn how to dive a full face mask?

All divers know that proper training leads to safer, more enjoyable dives. Your first experience diving with a full face mask should be unforgettably positive. By taking a full face mask training course you ensure that you will have a great first dive using a full face mask.
