Thumbs up New Hollis SMS100 Sidemount System

    New Hollis SMS100 Sidemount System

The brand new SMS100 Sidemount system was designed not just with the sidemount cave divers in mind, but any diver. Suitable for sidemounting twin or single cylinders, but also for use with rebreathers or rear mounted singles. This system can be used in any environment from open water to the overhead environment

Description of the new Hollis SMS100 Sidemount System:

    - 360 Degree wing with 52 lbs Lift

    - Bulletproof Construction

    - Single or Dual wing options available

    - Centrally and uppermost located elbow to avoid overhead interference

    - Upper/Lower cam band slots for rear mounted single tank

Here are the specs of the new Hollis SMS100 Sidemount System:

    - 1000 denier CorduraTM w/ PU lamination outer shell & 15mm urethane internal bladder

    - Streamlined design for reduced drag and passing through confined spaces

    - Lower left pull relief valve on SMS100 wing + Lower right on SMS100D wing

    - Includes elastic bungee system (removable)

I tried out the new Hollis SMS100 Sidemount System in Cave Country last weekend.

The unit is very streamlined and sleek, and quite comfortable to wear. The 360 degree wing makes maintaining proper trim very easy. There are lots of D rings and attachment points (nice).

I dive a drysuit and need to carry some additional weights with my LP85 tanks, and there was lots of space on the straps to tuck away some small weight pockets.

Some possible improvement recommendations would be:

    - The unit doesnt come with waist D Rings (essential if you are planning stage diving), but real easy to attach

    - The bungees can be difficult to pull around the tank necks to clip back onto the harness. At least I find them difficult.

What I plan to do to modify it?

    - Replace bungees with longer, more stretchable (and PINK) bungee.

    - Bungee down wing more

We have the new Hollis SMS100 Sidemount Systems in stock at the shop. Drop by the store to check them out!

These are really nice sidemount systems that excel in quality and features.

Regular Pricing: $684 for the single wing system, $864 for the dual bladder system.

Special Price for DAYO customers only: $584 for the single bladder system, and only $759 for the dual bladder system!

The Hollis SMS100 is a great sidemount system. I have a DR Nomad and a home made harness that I also dive. I used the SMS100 exclusively on this years expedition to continue the exploration of the Sistema Cocodrilo in Cozumel, Mx. It is the most streamlined unit I have ever used. I did find the lack of waist D rings to be annoying, but it is not hard, or expensive, to put a couple on yourself. I didn't have the issues with the bungee being too short (and I think I'll stick with the stock black ones rather than the neon pink!). The 360 degree wing does make trim and attitude easy. The shoulder straps are designed to easily add a couple of hard weights if you find yourself too heads up. If you are looking for a sidemount system, make sure you check out the Hollis SMS100, You wont be sorry.
