    The PADI Master Scuba Diver certification is awarded after completion of the Advanced Open Water course,Rescue course and five specialty courses of your choice.

    What it is:
    The PADI Master Scuba Diver rating is the highest non-professional rating in scuba diver education. With this certification, you will have reached the top of your sport! A Master Scuba Diver rating denotes superior achievement and proficiency in dive skills, experience and underwater activities.

    Course Cost:
    This cost varies on how many courses you need to complete….call or email for your individual price! If you are already certified for some of the courses, this will be credited as a discount on your cost. If you have already completed all the required courses, there is only a small processing fee paid directly to PADI.

    Cost includes: educational materials, your dive training, certification card, and photos (above and below water).

    Other costs:
    What not included is gear hire, gas fills, food, lodging, dive site fees & transportation. Dive site fees range from $5-$40, depending on site. Boats range from $65-85. Air is $5, Nitrox is $8.

    Gear you need to provide:
    You will need to have your own basic gear: ie: mask, fins, booties, and snorkel.
    BC, regulator, wetsuit and weights are available for rental; reduced for alumni.

    After successful completion of the required courses, 50 logged dives, you will awarded your certification as a PADI Master Scuba Diver!



    Age requirements:
    You must be at least 12 years old to receive a PADI Master Scuba diver rating, there is no maximum age.

    Minimum # of students per class:
    We need 2 or more people to make the courses required for the Master Scuba Diver Class. Private, one-on-one classes can be organized for a separate fee.

    How many people are in each class?
    Our prerequisite classes range in size, from 1-4 students. We always have two Instructors on site, to assure personal attention and fun, and usually some extra help too (Divemasters and Instructors in training). Weekends are busiest.

    We train all the time, and have multiple instructors on staff, many full time, so we do weekday and weekend classes.

For the actual Master Scuba Diver there is not a lot of time involved, just filling out the forms.

    We use as many as possible different dive sites when training Master Scuba Divers, local springs (Alexander Springs, Devils Den, Deleon Springs, Blue Grotto, Blue Springs), local lakes and a variety of ocean sites.



    Prerequisites for PADI Master Scuba Diver Course:

    * You will need a swimsuit and towel for your wet training.

    * Before participating in the Master Scuba Diver course, you will be asked to fill out a standard liability release form and a medical statement. If you answer YES to anything on the medical form will be required to be signed off by a physician.

    * Advanced Open Water Diver certification, Rescue Diver certification and five specialties.

    * Proof of 50 logged dives

    * If you are a Divemaster or Assistant Instructor, just complete any five Specialty Diver ratings.

    * DAN Insurance is HIGHLY recommend for all diving activities.

    * Most people doing the Master Scuba Diver Course are Nitrox certified, as you will be using Nitrox on most your advanced dives in the future.

    What you can do afterwards:

    * Dive, dive, dive!!!

    * Dive with a certified diving buddy, while applying the knowledge and skills that you learned throughout our courses, within the limits of your dive training and experience.

    * Continue your diver training with more specialized training.

    * This course is an excellent progression toward Dive Leadership roles (Divemaster, Assistant Instructor and Instructor).

    SDI Master Scuba Diver Course

    NAUI Master Scuba Diver Course

    What it is:
    The NAUI Master Scuba Diver rating is a continuing education certification course for divers who wish to increase their understanding and enjoyment of diving. Emphasis is on student participation and practical application of knowledge in open water after a classroom discussion of subjects. This course is an excellent progression toward NAUI Leadership roles.

A NAUI Master Scuba Diver must have demonstrated the knowledge and skill level expected of a NAUI Instructor (except for the teaching and student supervision material).

    How we teach it:
    Several dives have to be completed to obtain the NAUI Master Scuba Diver rating….a minimum of eight open water dives and the following training is required:

    * Emergency procedures and rescue

    * Deep/simulated decompression diving

    * Limited visibility or night diving

    * Underwater navigation

    * Search and recovery – light salvage

    In addition, each student must review and continue the education received in their previous NAUI courses to include:

    * Physics

    * Physiology

    * Medical aspects of diving

    * Fitness for diving
