American & Foreign Soldiers

I recently had the pleasure of diving with a couple from Canada Tony & Tammy, Tony is long time Navy personnel and is headed for a tour of duty Patrolling the shores. They are really nice people and it was a pleasure to meet and dive with them. As always I introduced them to the forum. Please join me in wishing all American and Foreign Soldiers well and thank them for what they do for this country.

Agreed, I have had many of my friends serve in the military and some of them never made it home. I always take the time to thank anyone who serves or has served in our military. Cheers!

Speaking of the Military, Divers, and Dayo.........

A few years ago I was taking my Intro Class with TJ and Denise and TJ had 3 Divers (from Russia) taking a Side Mount Class. We all stayed together at the Penny's Cottage. The Russian guys did not speak English but TJ had an Instructor Friend there who did some translation for us. It turns out that one of these guys was in the Russian Navy while I was riding Submarines for us during the Cold War! It was pretty special to be able to raise glasses with someone who was your "unseen" enemy for so many years.

The people you meet in this great sport of ours is awesome! I'll add my own Bravo Zulu to the Men and Women in uniform out there. A heartfelt Thanks!

It was a pretty cool couple of days with those guys. Although the vodka on our last night made doing the Grand Traverse at Peacock with TJ pretty tough the next morning!
