TDI Advanced Nitrox Training in Hudson Grotto

On Tuesday 6th April, Yoriko, Brent, Pete and I headed off to Hudson Grotto for the last day of their Advanced Nitrox training.
We arrived early, and made our dive plans for the day. We put our gear together (three of us dived sidemount and one was in doubles).
We were used nitrox as our "back gas" and oxygen on the safety stops.
We planned dives to 40, 60 and 100 feet. We used the platforms and lines to descend on and then returned to the surface using lift bag (s).

It was pretty DARK down under the hydrogen sulphide layer, and there were some BIG variations in temperature too. The surface was 74ish, from 30-90 feet was 63 degrees, and then it warmed up to the seventies again after 100 feet (after the hydrogen sulphide layer). We lost ambient light at this depth, and the smell was pretty intense :(
Our run times varied from 20-60 minutes over the day, and we had LOTS to talk about on the surface between dives :)

By the end of the day everyone had the liftbagging and O2 drops down perfectly. We did some touring and checked out what else is to be seen at the grotto.

Afterwards we checked out Tarpon Springs, had a nice Greek dinner, and checked out the touristy things there.

We had a great days diving over in Hudson Grotto and congrats to Brent and Yoriko for passing their Advanced Nitrox :armata_PDT_34:
