This is the instructor level certification course for Instructors that want to teach the TDI Extended Range (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1664) program. This course is designed to train Instructors how to plan and conduct deep air and staged decompression dives to a depth of 180 feet.

TDI Extended Range Instructor

Pre-requisites Certifications for TDI Extended Range Instructor Course:
* Minimum age of 21 years old
* Have a minimum certification as a TDI Extended Range diver (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1664), or equivalent.
* Show proof of 250 logged open water dives.
* Show proof of certification as an Advanced Nitrox Instructor (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1813) and Decompression Procedures Instructor (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1812).
* Have certified at least ten students in Advanced Nitrox (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1667) or Decompression Procedures (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1666), with at least five of these certs being Decompression Procedures (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1666).
* Assist with teaching at least one TDI Extended Range (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1664) diver course.
Required Equipment for TDI Extended Range Instructors:
* TDI Standards and Procedures Instructor Manual.
* TDI Extended Range Instructor Guide.
* TDI Extended Range student manual and workbook.
* TDI Evaluation forms
* Recommended text: Deep Diving: An Advanced Guide to Physiology, Procedures and Systems
Number of dives associated with the course:
At least 6, all of which are to be deeper than 100 feet, and four deeper than 130 feet.
Other dives as deemed necessary by the Instructor Trainer may also be required, in order to fulfill all skill requirements.
Skill Performance Requirements:
* Candidates must attend a workshop at Dayo Scuba in order to fulfill the requirements for the TDI Extended Range Instructor course. After this is completed, and the appropriate fee paid to TDI, the Instructor may apply to upgrade in their rating with TDI.
* During the workshop, Instructors are required to demonstrate proficiency in performing and teaching all skills required in the Extended Range (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1664) course.
* They must satisfactorily complete the TDI Extended Range (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1664) course written examination and be able to adequately explain each answer to a prospective student.
* They must satisfactorily complete the TDI Extended Range Instructor written examination with a minimum grade of 80%.
* Demonstrate mature, sound judgment concerning training and execution.
* Present one graded presentation on an Extended Range topic.
Cost:
* Basic course cost is $799 per student.
* As this is a professional course, you are expected to buy your own academic materials, as listed above.
* The Instructor Upgrade with TDI is $40.
