Matt, Dave and Mike visited us this week from Indiana for their Trimix (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1663) training. We did two days diving at the newly renovated Forty Fathoms Grotto (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1751).
The staff at Forty Fathoms Grotto (http://www.scubadiver.cc/forums/showthread.php?t=1751) have been hard at work all Winter, getting ready for the 2010 season. There are new classrooms, accommodations and a canteen serving hot food on site now.

Under the water, various more platforms have been added, down to 120 feet.

The commercial dive station is also set up on site, with its own hyperbaric chamber:

We arrived to Forty Fathoms Grotto early both days, already having our dive plans made out the night before. The weather wasnt as sunny as the Indiana boys had hoped for, but we made do. We got our gear together, and staged everything down in the water.

Day One (Wednesday) was the run up dives, with dives planned to 160 and 180 feet. We used a backgas mix of 21/30 on the bottom and O2 to deco on. Day Two we did a 200 foot dive, we had a backgas of 19/40 and used Nitrox 32% and O2 to deco on.

The visibility was better on Wednesday, about 40 feet, and it dropped down to 20 or so feet on Thursday. Water temperature was 67 degrees, and our drysuits felt good topside, where it was 60 or so degrees also.
